Part 2 – staining and glazing

In this part you will be invited to stain and glaze the Frink inspired Goggle heads, which you have made the previous week.
If you missed out on making your Goggle head, than this is your chance to catch up on making and we will stoneware fire your sculpture unglazed.

PERFORMANCE: ‘Duffle Coat’

Sam Parks performs a reprise of his father Ti Park's famous 'Duffle Coat' as originally performed at the Venice Biennale.
Painter, print maker, collagist, sculptor, installation and performance artist. Ti Parks was very influential during the 60's and 70's particularly in Australia where he lived for a decade. He became particularly famous for 'Duffle Coat' which he was often asked to perform. Ti used crutches during his later years and these were often incorporated in to the performance.

This course led by Sue Kelly is an ideal opportunity to spend the day getting familiar with throwing on the potter’s wheel or improve your existing skills. If you book both days you can throw your pots on Saturday and come to turn and attach handles the following day.

EVENT: Carol Singing

Messums Wiltshire

Join 200 voices and a brass band for a carol singing event at the barn in Messums Wiltshire.
This is a free event open to everyone. Just bring your voice and best Christmas wishes and help us raise money for Tisbury Fire Service.
The bar will be open for mulled wine, drinks and homemade snacks made by The Mess Restaurant.

Bridget Timoney has been a practicing potter for ten years. She studied ceramics at Limerick School of Art and Design. She trained under Gus Mableson at the prestigious Thomastown Skills Course and completed an Adopt a Potter apprenticeship with Julie Ayton. Recently Bridget completed her traineeship as Mirka Golden-Hann’s Visual Arts and Pottery Assistant at Salisbury Arts Centre where she gained an in-depth insight into teaching pottery classes to all ages as well as running a community pottery.
