CLAY COURSE: Halloween Pumpkins (pre-school children)

Halloween Pumpkins – Pre-school children (accompanied by adult)

Date: Wednesday 6 October
Times: 11am-12pm

£20 for child and £5 for an accompanying adult

This fun session is suitable for children as young as four to come and work together with their adults. In this short session you can come and make a Halloween pumpkin to hang on the wall during Halloween week.

Hand form the bold shapes of pumpkins in clay, then incise, cut and engrave the truly creative faces, words, spirits and sprites of Halloween. Back lit with a candle, this is a chance to revel in the riotous creativity of festival time.

Hand build bowls and vessels which literally walk from your hands. Using clays wonderful responsive sculptural qualities create interestingly footed and imaginatively stilted, plinthed and balanced hand built sculpture objects. Expect to make abstract or figurative bases commingling with containers.

Our Saturday sessions are designed for children to come together with their grownups to create together and to learn new skills. In these fun and creativity packed sessions a number of different tutors will bring an array of approaches to clay work and ceramics.

CLAY COURSE: Houses, Trees & their People (family)

In this pottery class for families with children you will be invited to create, model and build clay sculptures which will tell magical stories.

The tutor Lynne Heaton is an art therapist, teacher and artist with years of experience in running clay workshops for adults and children. Her own work holds and explores the elements earth, air, water, and fire and she believes that through the creative process of clay making, these elements combine to produce the fifth element, spirit.
