Antony Williams (b.1964) works almost exclusively in egg tempera, a painstaking and exacting medium, demanding close attention to his work and the world he is depicting. Williams’ oeuvre is based on direct and intense observation, where every surface detail is given almost equal and constant consideration. His impressive array of commissions include those patronised by HRH the Queen, the RT Hon Margaret Beckett MP and Sir Alan Budd.
In 2014 Williams won the Prince of Wales’ Award for Portrait Drawing and was the winner of the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize in 2012. He trained at Farnham College of Art and Portsmouth University.
