TALK: Building the Future – Environment & Landscape

As part of our In Focus Fortnight: Architecture we have invited leading architects to join us to discuss some of the most pertinent issues of the day in their fields of expertise.
Award-winning architect Philip Gumuchdjian (whose scale models will be on show in the tithe barn) discusses Building the Future – Environment & Landscape one of the most pressing issues currently facing architects and landscape designers. Joining Philip will be Dr Tarsha Finney from the RCA and fellow architect Peter Clegg.
Philip Gumuchdjian BA (Econ) MA (RCA) RIBA ARB FRSA founded Gumuchdjian Architects (GA) after 18 years with the Richard Rogers Partnership. Since founding his practice in 1998 he has won multiple construction industry and RIBA Awards including two Stephen Lawrence Prize. He chaired the RIBA Awards Group from 2014-2016 and was a member of the RIBA Grand Jury for the first International prize for excellence.
Dr Tarsha Finney is an architectural urbanist, Senior Research Tutor and Programme Lead on the City Design MA, School of Architecture at the Royal College of Art. Her work is focused on housing, the city and urban change.
Peter Clegg MA(Cantab) MEnvD RIBA established the practice Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios with Richard Feilden in 1978. Regarded as a pioneer in environmental design, he has nearly 40 years’ experience in low energy architecture and is active in research, design and education. Peter has led projects at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, London’s Southbank Centre and Brighton Dome.
