Henry graduated in ceramic sculpture from Bristol in 1987 and had his first exhibition in London during 1988. He studied at Farnham School of Art in 1983 before completing a BA in Ceramics at Bristol Polytechnic (1984-87). He was the first sculptor to win the Villiers David Prize in 1998 and has had more than thirty solo shows during his career. Career highlights include Conflux – a solo exhibition of twenty-two figures held at Salisbury Cathedral in 2011. Sean Henry is represented by Osborne Samuel gallery and his work is in the National Portrait Gallery, Cass Sculpture Foundation and frequently exhibited in London, New York and Stockholm.
Henry’s recent exhibition at Salisbury Cathedral attracted over 100,000 visitors during its 4-month run in 2011, a record for the Cathedral.
