A fantastic opportunity for young people to come and spend a day designing and creating in clay with one of our expert tutors. This course is inspired by the works created by the Japanese ceramicist Makoto Kagoshima concurrently on display in the Big Barn. In this workshop young students will have the opportunity to create two platters. They will make one using slabs of clay and decorate this with coloured slips by using techniques such as painting, sgraffito, paper resist, and inlay and on a second pre-made platter students will have the chance to explore on-glaze decoration.
