Tuesday 10 – Saturday 14 August (5-day course)
9:30am – 4:30pm (lunch included)
In this five-day workshop you will have the chance to learn and improve your skills in various hand building as well as throwing vessel forming methods. You will be expertly guided to further your skills in the assembly forms and to experiment with and test the aesthetic parameters of the vessel.
Recognised for her sculptural forms that combine different techniques including throwing and handbuilding, Jo Taylor has been making her unique ceramic work since graduating from Bath Spa University’s Master’s Degree in 2012. She is a qualified teacher, and has been delivering a range of regular courses and workshops since 2005.
The cost of one firing of the selection of your best work is included in the price of the course. The teacher will help you decide what your best work is and what the allowed quantity is. Extra work can be fired at an additional cost.
You will be using slips and raw glaze during the course. Your finish piece will be once fired to stoneware temperature to ensure that it is inert.
You can collect your fired work three weeks after the course.
If you would like to apply a dipping glaze to your work from this course we recommend that you speak to your teacher and book an extra glaze session to glaze your work.
If you wish to collect your fired work, you can do this three weeks after the course.
We will store your work for up to six months. If you would like us to post the work to you, please let us know and we will arrange this at extra cost.
This course may be attended by students aged 16+ providing that they come with an adult who is also a member of the class.
