Saturday Young Artists is a weekly pottery class for young people taught by our expert tutors. Age guidance 8+

Dates: Saturday 23 September  – 2 December

Half Term  28 October

Times: 14.00-16.00

Cost: £150*

Saturday afternoon creative sessions in which young artists can expect to experience a multitude of creative media. During the term young people can expect to create from clay and ceramics including wheel work and clay modelling, hand building and sculpture as well as explore painting, drawing, print, woodwork.

This is a mixed age and mixed ability class nurturing creativity in a sharing environment welcoming children up to A level age. During our sessions you can relax and create as a way to escape the routine of the week, but if you want you can expand on your GCSE or A level portfolio with us, you can work towards Duke of Edinburgh Awards, or work on the content for art scholarship applications.

At Messums we firmly believe that making is also a form of non-verbal language, and learning new skills allows us to bond with one another in new ways. So whether you are an aspiring sculptor or a product designer, if you want to learn to model clay or just get away from a digital environment, it doesn’t really matter. During your time here young creatives will learn new skills and make memories.

Classes are intended just for children and we will always have two tutors on site. However, if you would like to accompany your child and create with them we are happy for one adult to come with up to four children and make together.
