Course description:

During this workshop you can return to the studio in order to apply glaze and to decorate the work you have previously made in the Messums Creative studio.

Please note: you will need to have paid for the biscuit firing of your piece in order to be able to come and glaze it.

If you have biscuit fired work which was made in a different studio and would like to come to decorate, please get in touch with in order to assess material compatibility.

Andy Glass is Messums Creative technical expert and pottery tutor. Andy completed his degree in Ceramics in 1996 at the University of Derby. After university he worked as a production thrower for several years and consequently in the early 00’s developed his ceramic practice through a series of Artistic Residencies at Cranleigh Arts Centre in Surrey, South Hill Park Arts Centre, and Wysning Arts Centre. His career includes a wide teaching portfolio as well as kiln and pottery equipment engineering. Andy has decided to step away from his engineering job in order to concentrate on returning to developing his own creative voice.

Bring: apron, pencil, notebook. Please wear closed-toe shoes.

This course is intended for adults but may be attended by students aged 15+ providing that they come together with an adult who is also a member of the class.
