This is a new and fascinating opportunity for members of our creative community to join Edward Scott and other visiting guest artists/tutors for a series of regular mornings of drawing and painting and other 2D work in and around Messums Wiltshire in Tisbury. Whether you are an experienced artist or a complete beginner,
Messums art exhibitions held in the Big Barn and the Long Gallery together with the surrounding sculptures situated in our grounds surrounded by breath-taking landscape offer a unique setting for creative growth.
This season our visiting artist/tutor this term will be Francesco Poiana.
Born in Faedis in the North East of Italy in 1990, Francesco Poiana attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and then the celebrated Albicocco fine art printing workshop in Udine before studying for a Masters degree at Central St Martins College of Art in London. He joined the Royal Drawing School in 2019. The discovery and development of new techniques in printing and painting are an essential part of Poiana’s work.
Poiana’s work represents an intimate voyage — towards the image of an intangible place, imagined only in daydreams.
Edward Scott is a Salisbury-based artist who graduated from Falmouth University with a first-class fine art degree. Scott is inspired by the ineffable aspects of being and a fascination with materiality. Edward explores his subject matter through a range of mediums and processes such as oil painting, printmaking, and collage.
