This November we are introducing two taster evening life drawing classes led by artist Laura Rich. The sessions are intended for the beginner and the intermediate artist who would like to receive informative guidance and tutelage to begin or progress their understanding of drawing the human figure. This course looks to explore the foundations of drawing skills. Through a series of short and long poses you will be guided to look, to see, and to draw. You will gain the understanding of the structures and forms hidden within the figure and you will learn how to identify and use them with confidence in your drawing.

With drawing in the heart of her practice, Laura Rich is a Wiltshire-based artist and experienced tutor. Close observation of the subject informs her drawing process, whether it is the structure and flow of the human figure, the complexity of a bird’s nest, or the texture and light of a landscape.
Laura trained in Illustration with Graphic Design at Bath Spa University, graduating in 2001. After an early career in architectural illustration she took up painting, working on large commercial commissions for international clients including The Maybourne Group, P&O and Cunard.
Laura is passionate about sharing her skills with others and has been teaching drawing and painting for more than 10 years.
