Explore making and decorating with clay slips with Mirka Golden-Hann

10.00-16.00

 Cost of course:  £140

Slip decorating is one of the most spontaneous and expressive methods of treating the surface of clay work. Slip can be applied as a paint but can also be used to build up surface relief and depth. Whilst slip offers the oldest method of decorating, its imaginative potential continues to fascinate potters and artists still. In this course you will have the opportunity to look at slip recipes and make a number of slips of different thicknesses. You will then be able to decorate with the slips you have made. You can either prepare leather hard work for decorating beforehand, or you can use studio press moulds to make new work to decorate on the day.
