30 April – 9 July | Saturday Family Claymaking

Messums Makers – Saturday clay-making for the whole family

Time: 11.00-12.30
Cost per session: £170 per person for all nine sessions
Individual session: £20 per person

Our Saturday sessions are designed for family time and in particular for children aged 6+ to come together with their grown ups to create together and to learn new skills. In these fun and creativity packed sessions our tutor Bridget Timoney will demonstrate and teach you an array of approaches to clay work and ceramics. Making is a form of non-verbal language, which through learning new skills allows us to bond with one and other in a new way.
So, whether you are an aspiring sculptor or product designer, whether you want to model clay or get away from a digital environment, it doesn’t really matter. You will learn new skills and make memories.

These classes are intended to bring family members together when making and we are happy for one adult to come and make with up to four children, but equally we will welcome one child bringing up to four grown ups.

We will be covering a range of different creative methods:
1) 30 April – Family Wheel
2) 7 May – Family Wheel
3) 14 May – Family slab-building
4) 21 May – Family sculpture and modelling
5) 28 May – Family glazing and decorating
6) 11 June – Family Wheel
7) 25 June – Family pinch pot creation
8) 2 July – Family building with coils
9) 9 July – Family glazing and decorating
