23 September – 2 December | Pottery with Glaze Focus (adults)

Pottery Course with a focus on understanding glazes. Friday daytime adult class

Dates: 23 September – 2 December (half term: 28 October)
Times: 10.30am – 1.30pm
Tutor: Mirka Golden-Hann
Cost: £240

This is an ideal class for those ceramics and pottery students, beginners and more advanced who, whilst engaging in clay making, also wish to gain a deeper understanding of how ceramic glazes work.  As well as covering many hand-building methods and throwing on the potters wheel, this course will include an element of glaze experimentation and development.

Our group sessions are delivered within a relaxed, friendly, and peaceful atmosphere, an ideal environment for creative learning.  This regular weekly class led by Mirka Golden-Hann is designed to nurture everyone’s individual creativity and further each person’s skills at their own pace whilst offering an insight into the science of ceramics practice.

Mirka Golden-Hann is a ceramic artist and teacher with over 20 years’ experience of running a pottery studio. After graduating from the University of Westminster, Harrow Ceramics in 1999 she set up her first workshop and built a salt-kiln. After gaining her MA Ceramics at Bath Spa in 2009 she became Resident Artist at Salisbury Arts Centre (Wiltshire Creative) where she runs a busy teaching pottery and visual arts programme.

Bring: apron, pencil, notebook, and if you wish, pots for glaze trouble-shooting.
