In our friendly and creatively nurturing sessions your child will have the opportunity to get messy whilst creating in clay many magical artworks. The methods taught will be pinch pot making, coiling, slab building, modelling as well as throwing on the potter’s wheel. Participants will have the opportunity to learn an array of decorating methods.
We politely request that you drop off your child (children) and collect them on time.
Bridget Timoney has been a practicing potter for ten years. She studied ceramics at Limerick School of Art and Design. She trained under Gus Mableson at the prestigious Thomastown Skills Course and completed an Adopt a Potter apprenticeship with Julie Ayton. Recently Bridget completed her traineeship as Mirka Golden-Hann’s Visual Arts and Pottery Assistant at Salisbury Arts Centre where she gained an in-depth insight into teaching pottery classes to all ages as well as running a community pottery.
Judy Davison graduated in 1950’s with a BA in Pottery and Textile Design from Birmingham College. She then taught Pottery for many years at Lichfield Art School. After bringing up a large family she decided in the 80’s to get her MA in Arts management and Education at the City University of London. She enjoys working with children and teaching them the basic skills of working with clay. Judy’s main interest working with clay is in slipware and she loves the traditional way of decorating pots and plates.
