SOLD OUT | Tuesday Evening Pottery Class

Tuesday evening adults pottery class.

Dates:  20 September – 29 November (half term: 25 October)
Times: 6pm – 9pm
Tutor: Bridget Timoney
Cost: £240

Course:

Led by Bridget Timoney, this Tuesday evening class will have a specialist focus on surface decoration using coloured slips

This course offers the opportunity for pottery beginners and intermediate students to become familiar with or to improve their clay making skills.  The making methods which will be covered are various hand-building techniques as well as throwing on the potter’s wheel, along with the opportunity to learn the application of surface decoration and pattern using slips.

Slips are coloured clays in a liquid state. Their application is broad; the spectrum of possibility with slip decoration ranges from precise, carefully considered linear decoration, to decoration which is entirely untamed and energetic.

All our regular classes are relaxed and friendly because we believe that a peaceful atmosphere is the ideal environment for creative learning and we nurture everyone’s creativity at their own pace.

Bridget Timoney has been a practicing potter for ten years. She studied ceramics at Limerick School of Art and Design. She trained under Gus Mableson at the prestigious Thomastown Skills Course and completed an Adopt a Potter apprenticeship with Julie Ayton. Recently Bridget completed her traineeship as Mirka Golden-Hann’s Visual Arts and Pottery Assistant at Salisbury Arts Centre where she gained an in depth insight into teaching pottery classes to all ages as well as running a community pottery.
