Currently: London, UK

Educated: MFA Painting, Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, London

Minyoung’s artistic practice includes painting, drawing and poetry. Her work explores aspects of memory, time and place through the lens of childhood and adolescence. At first glance, the dreamlike scenes seem to suggest a narrative although the whole mood, how things are placed and painted are more important for her. Minyoung collects images of objects, figures and creatures with poses that interest or fascinate her. The sources of the imagery range from everyday and banal to historical or fictional ones. When positioned in these landscapes they take on a new kind of personal symbolism and narrative.
