This course led by Sue Kelly is an ideal opportunity to spend the day getting familiar with throwing on the potter’s wheel or improve your existing skills. If you book both days you can throw your pots on Saturday and come to turn and attach handles the following day.

Bridget Timoney has been a practicing potter for ten years. She studied ceramics at Limerick School of Art and Design. She trained under Gus Mableson at the prestigious Thomastown Skills Course and completed an Adopt a Potter apprenticeship with Julie Ayton. Recently Bridget completed her traineeship as Mirka Golden-Hann’s Visual Arts and Pottery Assistant at Salisbury Arts Centre where she gained an in-depth insight into teaching pottery classes to all ages as well as running a community pottery.

If you always wanted to have a go at making with porcelain on the potter’s wheel, now is your chance. This is a three part course for intermediate potters who would like to expand their skill set to work with the notoriously temperamental and magical material that is porcelain. Get ready to be enchanted and challenged at the same time!
Under the tuition of Jo Taylor, in this workshop you will be able to create serving dishes either by slab building or throwing on the potters’ wheel, and decorate them with coloured slips. Slip decoration is one of the most expressive decorating techniques. This workshop will let you go wild and be free using your vessels as canvasses for expressing your creative energy.

These regular sessions are the ideal opportunity for ceramics and pottery beginners and intermediate students wanting to become familiar with or improve their clay making skills. We believe that the relaxed, friendly, and peaceful atmosphere is an ideal environment for creative learning. This weekly class led by an experienced ceramics practitioner is designed to nurture everyone’s individual creativity and further each person’s skills at their own pace. You will be able to cover hand building techniques such as pinch-pot making, coiling, slab building as well as work on the potters wheel.

This is an ideal class for those ceramics and pottery students, beginners and more advanced who, whilst engaging in clay making, also wish to gain a deeper understanding of how ceramic glazes work. As well as covering many hand-building methods and throwing on the potters wheel, this course will include an element of glaze experimentation and development.
This is an introduction to sculpting the human form in clay. In this course tutor Finn Bush will help you to create studies and maquettes of the human form capturing posture, movement and charisma of a personality.
