Emsie Sharp designs and makes colourful tableware both modern and traditional using full lead crystal glass. Her passion is for producing wineglasses which she learnt whilst working in Venice on the island of Murano. On the Sunday of our Glass Festival Emsie will be demonstrating her specialist skills in wineglass or stem ware making here at the barn gallery whilst talking us through this fascinating process.
Recently Emsie has been working with the National Trust at Mompesson House, Salisbury contributing to their 18th century wine glass exhibition. She was also commissioned by the BBC in collaboration with the National Trust to produce Georgian inspired wine glasses for their series “The Manor Reborn” which was aired in December 2011.
Emsie works from her studio in Dorset.
